FAQs
Can I bring my kids?
We love your children, but we made the difficult decision to make this an adults-only event. Let your hair down, stay out late, and see you on the dance floor.
Can I bring a +1?
While more is usually merrier, we ask that only those given a +1 on their invitation bring a guest.
What is the dress code?
Formal, make Andrew Carnegie proud. Formal attire for men consists of a suit and tie – a tuxedo if you’d prefer (but absolutely not required). For women, feel free to wear a short, midi, or long – whatever your heart desires. We’re going more for a “garden party formal vibe” if you will.
Who is Andrew Carnegie?
Only the original owner of the Cooper Hewitt museum. Want to learn more? Attend the Gilded Age tour on Friday morning (or feel free to take to Google). Fun fact, Andrew Carnegie’s wife’s name was Louise!
What time should we get to the wedding?
Our ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM on October 12th. Guests can arrive starting at 3:30 PM for some champagne and explore the museum grounds. The museum will be closed until November 2, so please arrive to the Arthur Ross Garden for the ceremony between 3:30 PM and 4 PM.
Will the event be outside?
Yes! Rain permitting, we plan to have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. We’ll host the ceremony and cocktail hour under a tent if the rain doesn’t cooperate. The reception will be under a tent in the Arthur Ross garden of the Cooper Hewitt.
What will the weather be like?
Fingers crossed for a beautiful fall NYC day (60’s and sunny), but be prepared for a chill at night. Weather permitting, the ceremony & cocktail hour will be taking place on a lawn, so please factor that into your footwear decisions!
Can I make a special dietary request?
Yes, of course! Please include in your RSVP.
Will there be transportation?
All of our activities are in close proximity to the hotels. Please take the subway or Uber/Lyft/taxis to and from our events.
Are the venues ADA Compliant?
Yes!
Our Welcome Drinks are on the ground floor of City Winery at Pier 57, and the space is completely accessible.
The entrance for our wedding is on 90th street just off Fifth Avenue, and is on street level. There is no step into the garden space. Our Wedding Ceremony will take place on grass, and in the case of weather, we will have a tent. Our Reception will have a raised floor with ramps. Bathrooms are accessible inside the museum via ramps. The museum itself is also accessible via ramp. If you need any special requirements, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Will there be parking at the venues?
For parking at City Winery, there is a lot called MP Pier 57 located directly next door to the venue (29 11th Avenue).
For parking at the Cooper Hewitt, we recommend Champion Parking (60 East 90th Street, between Madison and Park Avenues).
We need a babysitter! What should we do?
There are plenty of options in NYC for someone to look after your little ones. Reach out to Louise, and she can help find you a solution!
